Introduction

Welcome to MeetIndex. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the MeetIndex platform, website, and all associated services. By accessing or using MeetIndex, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the platform.

Beta Status & Roadmap: MeetIndex is currently in closed beta. Some features described in these Terms (in particular paid Citizenship via Lemon Squeezy and automated image moderation) are scheduled to activate as we move toward public beta. Where a feature is not yet active, we say so explicitly. The structure of these Terms is final; activation timing is the only thing in motion.

Core Principles

MeetIndex is built on trust, ownership, and respect. When you use our platform, you're agreeing to participate in a community that values authenticity and integrity.

• You own your PIN (profile) and the content you create
• MeetIndex provides the platform and structure for intentional connection
• We practice no algorithmic manipulation of visibility or engagement
• We maintain respectful, intentional community standards

Eligibility

By using MeetIndex, you represent that:

• You are at least 18 years of age
• You have the authority to enter into these Terms
• You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• You will not use MeetIndex for illegal or unauthorized purposes

User Responsibilities

By creating an account on MeetIndex, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information about yourself
• Treat other community members with respect and dignity
• Not engage in harassment, abuse, discrimination, or hate speech
• Respect intellectual property and content ownership
• Not attempt to manipulate, exploit, or game the system
• Keep your account secure and notify us of unauthorized access immediately
• Not create multiple accounts to circumvent community guidelines or bans
• Take responsibility for all activity on your account

Content Guidelines

Content on MeetIndex should reflect the values of our community. We reserve the right to remove content that violates community standards, including but not limited to:

• Hate speech, discrimination, or dehumanizing language targeting protected groups
• Explicit violence, threats, or encouragement of harm
• Sexual exploitation, abuse material, or non-consensual intimate content
• Spam, commercial solicitation, or misleading promotional material
• Content that violates others' privacy, rights, or intellectual property
• Misinformation designed to deceive or manipulate
• Doxxing, harassment campaigns, or coordinated abuse

We take community safety seriously. Please report inappropriate content to info@meetindex.online. Our team reviews every report personally.

Membership & Payment

MeetIndex operates on a free-to-visit, paid-to-participate model. Browsing public content is free. Creating a PIN, posting status updates, uploading photos, sending messages, and participating in the forum require an active Citizen membership.

• Pricing: $5 per month or $50 per year (billed annually). Prices are exclusive of taxes, which are calculated at checkout based on your location.
• Auto-renewal: Memberships renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account settings, in which case your membership will not renew at the end of the current billing period.
• 30-day money-back guarantee: If, within 30 days of your initial Citizenship purchase, you decide MeetIndex is not for you, contact info@meetindex.online for a full refund. The guarantee applies once per Citizen, to first-time purchases only, and does not apply to renewals.
• No free trial: Trials are intentionally not offered; the 30-day refund window is the equivalent assurance and avoids attracting throwaway accounts.
• Merchant of Record: Subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy as our Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy is responsible for collecting and remitting applicable taxes (including EU VAT, UK VAT, and US sales tax). MeetIndex does not store your payment card details.
• Failed payments: If a payment fails, your account enters a 14-day grace period during which full Citizen rights are preserved while we retry. If payment cannot be collected within the grace period, your account moves to a Paused state as described below.
• Price changes: Prices for new memberships may change. Existing memberships will receive at least 30 days' notice before any price change applies to renewal.

Account States

Citizen accounts move between a small number of clearly defined states. The intent is that data is preserved by default and never silently lost.

• Active: Membership is current. Full Citizen rights apply.
• Past Due: A renewal payment has failed. Full Citizen rights are preserved during a 14-day grace period while we retry payment and notify you.
• Paused (Dormant): The grace period has expired. The account becomes read-only: the Citizen can log in, see their full profile and history, and renew with one click, but cannot post status updates, upload photos, send messages, create or reply to forum threads, create classifieds or entertainment releases, or interact with other Citizens' content. The public-facing profile is hidden behind a notice that the Citizen is currently paused. Existing public content remains visible. Incoming direct messages are queued silently and delivered upon renewal.
• Archived: After 12 consecutive months in a Paused state with no login activity, we send a final email and move the account to cold storage. Login still works to renew.
• Cancelled: The Citizen explicitly cancelled their subscription. The account is preserved in a Paused state and is distinct from a deleted account.
• Deleted: The Citizen has requested account deletion under their data rights. We honor deletion requests promptly and completely, subject to limited records that law requires us to retain (e.g. tax/billing records held by our payment provider).

MeetIndex does not silently delete Citizens. Cancelling a subscription is not the same as deleting an account; deletion must be explicitly requested.

Content Limits & Uploads

• Gallery: Citizens may upload up to 100 photos to their gallery. Avatar and profile banner do not count against this limit.
• File size: Uploads accept files up to 20 MB. All uploads are automatically optimized (resized to a maximum dimension of 1920 px and converted to WebP at high quality) on the client before transmission.
• Text length: Status updates, comments, captions, forum topics, and replies are each subject to maximum character limits, and consecutive same-author posts in a single thread are restricted to keep conversations readable. The current allowances are published and kept up to date on our Support page.
• Adult content: MeetIndex is an 18+ platform but is not an adult platform. Nudity, sexually explicit material, and pornographic content are strictly prohibited in any surface (profile, gallery, status, forum, messages, classifieds, releases). Violations may result in immediate content removal and account closure without refund where the violation falls outside the 30-day refund window.
• Automated moderation: Before public beta, image uploads will be subject to automated content-safety scanning by a third-party provider (Sightengine). During closed beta, uploads are subject to admin review only.

Platform Use

MeetIndex is provided for personal, non-commercial use. You may not:

• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to collect or manipulate data
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform or user accounts
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to discover source code
• Use the platform for illegal purposes or regulatory violations
• Interfere with or disrupt platform functionality or servers
• Circumvent security measures or authentication systems
• Use MeetIndex to impersonate others or engage in fraud

Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to content you create and post on MeetIndex. By posting content, you grant MeetIndex a limited license to display, distribute, and archive your content for platform operations. You remain free to delete your content at any time. MeetIndex's design, features, and technology are protected by copyright and other laws.

Limitation of Liability

MeetIndex is provided "as is" without warranties. We don't guarantee uninterrupted service, and we're not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages from your use of the platform. Our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in behavior harmful to the community. Termination decisions for serious or repeat violations are final and may be made without prior notice. You can cancel your subscription or request account deletion at any time as described in the Membership & Payment and Account States sections. Upon deletion, your profile is removed; archived or aggregated content may persist where required for community continuity or legal reasons. Refunds for terminations are governed by the 30-day money-back guarantee; outside that window, refunds are at our discretion.

Blocking & Unblocking: 24-Hour Cooldown Policy

MeetIndex provides blocking tools to help users maintain control over their experience. To prevent harassment cycles, we enforce a 24-hour cooldown period on re-blocking.

If a blocked person creates a new account to evade your block, that is a policy violation. Please report it to us at info@meetindex.online, and our team will investigate.

User-Generated Content & Disputes

MeetIndex is not responsible for disputes between users. We provide tools for blocking and reporting, but we cannot mediate personal conflicts. Users resolve disputes directly or contact us for assistance with policy violations.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as our platform evolves. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or by posting notice on the platform. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of MeetIndex will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the appropriate courts.
